About Patricia Duggan

Hey I’m Patricia, First, I would like to commend you for taking the first step into sharing your truths, and the chance to be a part of your therapeutic journey. Often, it is the first step that is the most challenging. We live in a society that has stigmatized the idea of seeking mental health. No- you are not weak, and no what you are feeling is not only in your head. It is okay- to not be okay (It really is)!! It is often difficult to find a therapist that is “right” for you, and I am excited to be a part of your journey. The therapeutic relationship is often the strongest indicator of your success. To help you work towards embracing your authentic self, I work to create a safe space, where you can be heard and validated through the use of my warm, compassionate, quirky, and bubbly personality. I work at your pace, as our sessions are not about my experiences but your reality. In order to assist you facilitate in your therapeutic process, I take an integrative approach. Together we can explore a variety of techniques that you make you feel most comfortable, such as using mind-body approaches, expressive arts, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative, strengths-based approaches, and others. As a Person of Color, woman, and person living with a disability, I acknowledge, all of the various factors that shape and influence our worldviews, so I always incorporate a person-centered, culturally sensitive approach in all of our work. All of our work will always be LGBTQIA affirming and body positive. I am looking forward to meet you, -Pat
