About Kendra Byrd

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, my goal is to help my clients get in touch with their whole self through a holistic approach. I have training and experience in various different clinical techniques. Included in those are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Trauma Focused, Christian based therapy and Behavior modification. I have utilized different techniques associated with play therapy, and mindfulness. All clients receive a strength based, person centered approach to therapy; to provide an individualized experience. My passions are working with children, adolescents, individuals and families. My personal experience as a first generation Jamaican-American, BIPOC clinician has also led me to being passionate about working with millenials who deal with generational trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and depression. I have experience with children, families, and individuals who struggle with developmental disabilities as well as a disruption in family dynamics due to abuse and neglect. I enjoy working with clients and helping them process their trauma, everyday struggles, and significant life changes. I believe in relationship building when participating in therapy; it is a necessity when aiming to build a connection between therapist and client. As your therapist my desire is to take the time to get to know you as a person to better help provide an all around holistic approach to therapy where we care for the mind, body, and soul. Currently only telehealth sessions are being offered, providing a convenient opportunity for clients to participate in therapy from the comfort of their home. We serve Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, and surrounding areas in Phoenix.
