Carlos Cantu, LCSW has been in the field of mental health for over 16 years. As a qualified mental health provider, social worker and adviser.
Mr. Cantu offers counseling services for people with chronic mental and physical- emotional disorders. His experience in that setting ranged from nonprofit community social services agencies, outpatient clinical and psychological service and national department education programs. After graduating with a professional degree in clinical psychology from the Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi, Mexico and receiving his license as a clinical psychologist, he worked as an independent practitioner and clinical consultant with several public and private institutions and rehabilitation and behavioral centers. Mr. Cantu graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Jane Adams School of Social Work receiving his MSW ( clinical social worker). He has been working with several social ethnic community service agencies as a mental health provider, co-founder of several support groups for people with disabilities and emotional problems. Academically, he has been working with several educational and research projects as a program coordinator and program director. His specialty is school children with behavioral and emotional problems and supporting their families. Other areas of expertise include adults with depression and anxiety and couples with communication problems and people living with chronic conditions. He also has years of experience counseling high school and college students and their families with career decisions and academic planning. Mr. Cantu believes in the power of collaboration and encouraging professionals to work with one another to create change.
