About Janet Skinner

My specialties include but are not limited to working with veterans with PTSD from the Vietnam conflict, Gulf war, Iraq and Afganistan.  I have been doing this work for most of my 16 years of practice.  I also address the needs of the family members and have worked significantly with addiction issues, dual diagnosed addicts and their families.  I work from a psychodynamic perspective with the understanding that the client is the authority in this process and I am the facilitator of the growth process.  I try to use humor and acceptance as the cornerstone of my practice with a "conversational approach"...expecting and encouraging feedback from the client on the work we are doing.
