About Jamie Howard

I specialize in freeing you from the constraints imposed on you from your past negative experiences.  Such traumas come not just from rape, violence, or war-time PTSD, but also from abandonment, neglect, verbal and emotional abuse and many other kinds of experience.  In short, you have “programming” that is keeping you from being either as successful or as happy as you could be.

I have had extraordinarily successful results from using a therapy called EMDR.  EMDR uses a technique which enables the brain to replace (re-process) false beliefs with what it knows to be true—that you are “good enough,” “lovable,” “worthy of love and respect,” “competent,” “able to keep yourself safe,” etc.  Not only is EMDR effective, but it is likely to have profound results in few sessions.  Several of my clients have said that they got the results they wanted in a half-dozen sessions of EMDR, that years and years of therapy, with several kinds of therapists, never achieved.

As EMDR is not for everybody, I also use practices based in mindfulness, cognitive, and psychodynamic therapies in working with mood disorders: depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, as well as feeling overwhelmed or confused.

I offer marital/couples therapy as well. Call me to discuss your situation in more detail.  The first session is free and my fees are on a sliding scale.  I look forward to talking with you.
