About Liz Lipman-Stern

To me, psychotherapy is about supporting people to assume full control of their own lives with power, compassion, and joy. The goal of therapy is a world full of powerful, loving people at ease with themselves and each other.

I act as a mirror, not a judge, providing you with a reflection of yourself, one you might not have seen before, that is based upon what you express during our sessions.  With that reflection and my guidance and support, you have the opportunity to develop the inner and outer skills to reach your goals.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in both NY and NJ, with over 20 years in the field. My professional experience includes working with people from a variety of age groups and a variety of backgrounds.  I work primarily with adults providing individual and relationship counseling.

I am knowledgeable and experienced in the area of "alternative" lifestyles. For me, "alternative" means a way of life other than what society tells us is the "normal" or "acceptable" way. I have experience working with people who identify as transgendered, bisexual, lesbian, gay, transsexual, and polyamorous, and those involved in the bdsm/kink/fetish communities.
