About Leslie Shakespeare

** Currently available for video conferencing five days per week.**

I enjoy helping individuals and couples (ages 18 and up) overcome whatever is preventing them from experiencing greater health, emotional well-being and fulfillment in their lives.  For nearly 20 years, as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, I have provided counseling to clients dealing with a variety of issues: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions and loss, recovery issues, career change, as well as creative blocks.

Our work begins with creating a safe, collaborative relationship in which you can identify your goals and we discuss the best ways to achieve them.  We will examine any patterns of thoughts, feelings and/or behaviors that may block you from experiencing the powerful and creative resources within you.  As we become aware of these habitual responses, and understand the role they may have played, we can heal and choose more effective ways to live in the present.

Therapy is always tailored to your specific needs and preferences.  Our work will integrate many therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, solutions-focused, meditation, and coaching.  Along with my training and expertise, I bring warmth, compassion and humor to each session, as well as a deep respect for my clients’ strengths and life experiences.

I would be happy to talk with you to explore how we can work together to help you achieve your goals.
