About Richard LaBrie

After 35 years in the film and television business, I changed careers and became a licensed psychologist.  I work with people from their unique perspective to help facilitate the healing or changes they define.  I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, creative issues, past abuse, work distress, life changes, existential issues, or those with a more general desire to explore and gain insight into their lives.  I also understand the nuances, structure, and unique pressures of the entertainment industry.

I believe everyone's feelings, personal history, strengths, and struggles are unique. At the same time, we are all a part of the connected, human story. But sometimes we can feel alone in our suffering, or even when we try and achieve positive goals. I work with adults, couples, and families by using my diverse training in a way that fits their particular styles and needs. Through relational connection, collaborating on concrete coping skills, and exploration of current and past patterns, I have seen tremendous healing in my partnership with clients.

Overall, I strive to assist clients in lowering their distress, increasing their functionality, and thriving in areas they find important.
