About Barbara Maxwell

This is a small, intimate private practice where you have time to express your concerns in a respectful and interested climate.  Most recently I have seen many people suffering from anxiety problems.  When these problems are acute enough to interfere with everyday functioning, perhaps to the point of considering hospitalization, we can meet for crisis counseling two or three times per week to get you to a point of stabilization and past your crisis.  We rebuild and renew your inner strength, using your own coping skills and learning new ones.

For most concerns, weekly sessions are sufficient for a month or two until symptoms are relieved.   In more chronic cases of depression or anxiety, problems can be stabilized, coping skills can be enacted, and we can then meet every two to four weeks.
