About Ellie Egan

I create a warm, non-judgmental atmosphere in which my clients feel free to explore the issues that keep them from living happy, fulfilled lives. My approach is active and collaborative.  As people gradually feel understood on a deep level, they become more compassionate toward themselves, more hopeful and open to new possibilities. For more than 20 years I have helped my clients to heal from psychological trauma, depression and Bipolar symptoms, anxiety disorders, and relational difficulties. I am well trained and experienced in psychodynamic psychotherapy as well and Trauma therapy. I also help people with general problems of living: transitions, relational difficulties, grief, replacing negative habits with positive ones, and breaking through the barriers that keep them feeling “stuck.”  active, collaborative approach

Over the years I have acquired a number of skills to help people relax and reduce painful emotions, including clinical Hypnosis, EMDR, advanced and rapid relaxation techniques, EFT, TFT and other energy therapies and Internal Family Systems.  Each client and I decide together whether to integrate such methods into the therapy. I also work adjunctively with other psychotherapists, teaching their clients to soothe painful emotions and become more relaxed.

I do short-term work with clinical Hypnosis on many issues, including: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, smoking, ego-strengthening, peak-performance, and resolving grief issues.
