About Steven Varga-Golovcsenko

I have 30+ years of experience with a broad range of ages and difficulties, from college students to middle age clients, from personal/marital/professional issues to serious psychiatric disorders.  Although I specialize in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, I also prescribe medications for those in therapy with me.  I am also well versed in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which I integrate into the therapy whenever needed. I emphasize a supportive, positive, holistic approach.

My academic affiliation is with Harvard Medical School, and I am a member of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and Massachusetts Medical Society.  In the 1970's, I also practiced internal medicine for two years while completing a one-year fellowship in psychosomatics.

I am available to dicuss your concerns over the telephone, and also help in the referral process, if it is indicated.
