About Julie Albert

Relief, healing, acceptance and hope await you in a safe, secure and welcoming environment.  Others describe me as kind and gentle.  I am passionate about helping others.

Crisis intervention: Often a crisis leads us to reach out for therapy..

Depression and anxiety: When treating depression and most anxiety disorders, my treatment approach is primarily cognitive behavioral augmented by mindfulness and education.

Trauma: As an EMDR certified clinician, I am continually amazed and gratified how quickly and painlessly we can heal from traumas.  Childhood wounds often impact our self-esteem.  Betrayals can eat away at our self-confidence.  Rape attacks our sense of safety.  Military service, police and fire department officials witness terrible tragedies, sometimes haunting us during the day with flashbacks or over-reacting as well as invading our sleep with nightmares.  EMDR, recommended by the military for PTSD treatment, provides emotional relief for internal peace and overall improved quality of life.

Life Transitions: Major changes – positives such as new relationships, promotions or moving to a new location as well as relationships ending, perhaps by choice or by death or divorce, naturally create significant upheaval.  Through exploration and emotional support, we transform your life to a ‘new normal.’

Family healing: Family therapy examines interactional patterns between family members and inter-generational transmission of unhelpful patterns of belief and behavior, opening the door to new possibilities.

Couples: Couples benefit from my training in Imago as well as Gottham.  Developing new communication methods helps you understand each other’s needs, preventing conflicts and resolving seemly ingrained resentments.  Rekindle your initial affection and passion.

When we sit together, combining your expertise from your life experience with my clinical experience and education, we build on your current strengths, develop your vision and goals, and create a fulfilling life. It is my pleasure and honor to walk this path and work with you.  I welcome your inquiries, calls, and questions
