About Joelle Maletis

As a LMFT, I specializes in PTSD/Trauma, Relationship Issues, Addictions and Life Transitions. With additional training and certifications, I'm one of the leading military psychology experts in the field. I specializes in military relationships, combat stress, deployment trauma and Veterans. I've written and presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of Military psychology, eating disorders, wellness and addictions. I've been featured on ABC7 with Cheryl Jennings and Parents2Go. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help build strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing.

An interactive, client-centered and solution-focused therapist, my therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques such as DBT, CBT/prolonged exposure, strength-based and the wellness models to offer a highly personalized approach.

I lecture for CAMFT (California Marriage and Family Therapists) on Military/Veteran issues, US ARMY trainings, in-patient hospital programs; write articles for NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness); and have made television, with ABC7's Cheryl Jennings, Parents2Go; and radio appearances, and am a clinical psychology professor at SJSU.
