About Janet Wiseman

Janet Miller Wiseman is one of the two longest established, most experienced mediators and psychotherapists in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Janet's colleagues and clients describe Janet as warm, welcoming, insightful and supportive.

Over many years, Janet has made warm and supportive treatment alliances with those who are ready to work on gaining insight, healing wounds and achieving happiness within themselves and in their relationships, while working to improve depression, anxiety, grief and loss, couple's issues, affairs, incest, decision-making questions, post-traumatic stress, bi-polar/manic-depression, panic, parent/child, parent/elder, ADHD, life transitions, improvement of self-esteem and identity issues & much more.

Janet always helps people articulate their OWN goals, attempts to situate herself in their shoes and be solidly and warmly in their corner as she and they work together to accomplish those goals.

Janet has evolved a treatment modality referred to as "Decision Making Mediation".   Generally, most people and therapists think of "marriage counseling" or couples therapy as a forum for totally committed couples to work on "communication, intimacy, financial, parenting, and the day-to-day living event"  If the relationship or marriage comes apart, the treatment is felt to be a failure by clients and therapists, alike.

Decision Making Mediation is a structured approach during which clients will answer many questions to help them receive tremendous insight into what they NEED as an individual and as a couple and what they are capable of and motived to achieve.

In the process it becomes crystal clear in what future direction the partnership needs to proceed, either a marriage, relationship, or members of religious or business organizations.

Hundreds of partners are using this approach to succeed in determining their future directions -- those planning BABIES, WEDDINGS, married or partnered couples, adults and their teens, adults and their parents, adult siblings, business partners, every pair needing to make carefully thought out and sane decisions for the future.
