About Barry Erdman

Hi,

I'm a licensed clinical social worker and diplomate of clinical social work in private practice in Boulder Colorado since 1987. I am currently also a clinical supervisor for therapists in training, an EAP (employee assistance provider), and a Critical Incident Response Consultant for regional corporations. I previously worked as an outpatient therapist in community mental health, and as a child protection caseworker with the state department of social services.

Personal spiritual growth and in relationships is so important. I am grateful to have had the privilege of meeting and helping so many wonderful people throughout my career. I care for those I work with and aim to always respect you and your concerns.

I take pride in treating my clients with respect as human beings first and foremost; and not just another patient with a diagnosis to be treated cured. I like to think of my role and a friendly win/win coach, teaming up together, in your best interests to address and resolve those challenging life situations that inevitably come our way. Sessions typically are engaging, dynamic & interactive, while providing a safe beginning where healthy personal exchanges & explorations can take place.

You are invited to join with me to explore and find meaning within, by going deeper as is appropriate. There may be delicate memories to sort through and manage; some especially sensitive, related to personal pain and suffering. Yet, we can also remain mindful to find a small smiling sensation inside that is also present, to secure a new foundation of inner strength and renewed wellbeing.

I use an eclectic therapeutic toolset in my work, applying the best of the various tried and true conventional methods with the latest therapeutic techniques, based on your particular needs. These include cognitive and behavioral techniques, strategic couples and family therapy, along with alternative approaches influenced by clinical hypnosis, body centered therapy, Eastern & Buddhist psychology, diet/nutrition, and little humor when appropriate. together, we’ll develop a personalized approach which may best match your interests and intended goals.

At this point in time, I am accepting new adult clients from college age to seniors years, individually, couples and families. I do take Medicare and am also happy to bill your insurance directly as an out of network provider. I welcome diversity of background, nationality, race, social class, sexual orientation, belief system and/or lifestyle.
