About Wai-Por (Richard) Cheng

Welcome! Seeking therapy for change takes courage, hopefulness and self-determination. There are many ups and downs in this competitive and constantly changing world. A therapist can be a positive force in your corner helping you to persevere, develop strategies, tap into hidden skills and help you have a better understanding to move forward.

I am committed to meeting you where you are and working with you to improve your health and bring harmony to your relationships. Together we will face challenges and take steps toward recovery from personal, cultural and institutional difficulties. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect as you strive to be successful in your endeavors and fulfill your dreams.

For over twenty years, I have worked compassionately and skillfully with people of diverse backgrounds, including men and women, older and younger individuals, and foreign born or native residents. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, thought disorders, substance use, life transitions, migration issues and other common mental health concerns. My approaches are inclusive, contextual, person-centered and trauma informed as well as evidence based. I integrate traditional therapy with authentic, Eastern ethics, philosophy and values that are culturally appropriate and adaptable.

You are the Captain on this flight of recovery. I would be honored to serve as your co-pilot. Please call me at (978) 452-3711 to see how I may assist you on your journey.
