About Luhit Recinos

I was born and raised in South Florida. I speak both English and Spanish. I received my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Florida International University in 2020. I am currently in the process of being a registered mental health intern which means that I am under direct supervision of a qualified supervisor. For many years, before starting at the graduate level, my desire was to help others within my community. Witnessing the effect of traumatic events in the field, I understand the need for mental health services. I have volunteered at local churches, at the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and at the Trauma Resolution Center. Besides that, I understand that an individual’s faith is crucial to their mental health. Faith comprises a significant component of individuals’ daily lives which is the reason why I welcome the spiritual topics that may arise during a session. I have worked with diverse populations and a wide range of issues besides trauma and faith.
