About Katie Virga
Hello and welcome!
I am passionate about working with those who identify as caretakers, perfectionists, codependents and people pleasers-- those who have wisely learned to attune to the needs, emotional states and approval of others, but in the process may have lost connection to their own boundaries, values, emotions, and self-worth. This external focus can lead to anxiety, shame, lack of direction, resentment and exhaustion.
I offer a safe and accepting place for you to examine the needs and unresolved wounds underlying the behaviors you feel stuck in, honor those parts of yourself, and feel empowered to try more adaptive ways of relating. This may include setting boundaries, discovering your passions and value system, learning to self-soothe, and practicing self-compassion.
My specialities include self-esteem, childhood trauma, and relationship issues. My therapeutic approach is informed by attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, and parts work, but I may integrate skills from other therapy modalities to best support your needs.
