About Kristen Dammer

WHO I WORK WITH:

I help adults find relief from your anxiety, recover from past traumas, process your grief, and help moms cope with postpartum depression or anxiety. I can also help you find hope again after a devastating miscarriage. So many of you suffer these challenges in silence, not knowing how traumatic these tragedies are for you or how much your anxiety is affecting your life.  My hope is to help you process, grieve, understand and eventually find a bit of acceptance, free from the guilt that unsettles so many people and mothers. I focus on helping you regain your sense of self and freedom in your life.

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP YOU:  I strongly believe that taking care of your mind can free yourself and your body. I can help you  manage your anxiety, overcome your PTSD or traumacope with your grief, and master your postpartum depression or anxiety. During our therapy sessions, together we will process, grieve, understand and eventually find a bit of acceptance that is so hard to find. With a focus on your relationships and how your anxiety, grief or trauma is affecting your connections with others, we can find a path to healing. Through caring and compassionate listening and guiding, counseling can help you adjust to your new life with joy and excitement, instead of dread and sorrow. ABOUT ME:

I believe in addressing the whole health needs of you as a person, and my dedication, creativity, and flexibility as a therapist are my greatest strengths. My holistic approach to anxiety, grief and trauma helps you feel in control and creates a welcoming environment for you to share your vulnerabilities, fears, and experiences. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and use it to treat anxiety and trauma, and I constantly work at creating an atmosphere for you of safety and light. I have extensive experience working with people with a variety of other issues including depression, trauma, anxiety, vicarious trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, and caregiver stress. I have two elementary-aged kids and I myself experienced a birth trauma and postpartum mood issues that may help me better understand your unique situation. I love doing yoga, playing volleyball, and being in the mountains of Colorado.
