About Carol G Fountain Wooten

Carol began practicing counseling after 30 years working with adolescents and adults in the performing arts. This prior career included extensive work with performance anxiety. These experiences shape her whole-person approach. She completed a Masters of Arts from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Charlotte, NC in 2009 and the Masters of Divinity in 2018. Her experience as a therapist includes both private office and inpatient psychiatric settings since 2006. After over 7 years of private practice employed by Dr. Charles A. Schaefer, Ph.D., Inc. she launched her own business in 2015 in the same office suite where she has worked with great colleagues since 2008. While not excited by "the alphabet soup" of letters at the end of her name, each certification addresses an important area of clinical practice. Carol is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Board Certified Counselor, North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Michigan Licensed Professional Counselor, Mississippi Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Telemental Health Provider, and endorsed Chaplain. She enjoys anything outdoors, music, and being at home with her husband as well as playing with their 2 cats.
