About Amanda Patrick

Therapy too expensive? Not sure you're ready for counseling (too many emotions and too much crying, right?!)? What about confidentiality and opening up to a total stranger? These are some of the reasons I love what I do as a therapist as my goal is to provide space to experience that therapy can be incredibly rewarding, beneficial, affordable, and even fun. My style? I meet you where you are, learn from your expertise in determining what you hope to accomplish, and then dive into the work with you to achieve your goal(s). Over time, I hope to work myself out of a job as your feedback helps guide us in building a healthier path forward. Where we begin: you are not the problem. The problem is the problem. I start there from session one so that we can begin to learn more about the issue and what strengths, tools, etc. can aid you. As we move forward, we'll work collaboratively, mixing in homework activities, humor, and dialogue to harness the expertise you bring to your journey. My focus is one that is integrative and holistic as well as I pull in helpful tools, from nature to mindfulness, to help you feel and see overall growth in your trek. Above all, you hold the expertise that is critical for our success as no one will ever know your life as you do. This means myself and the therapists I work with tailor our approaches based on your insight. We also stay up to date on the latest trends, research, and approaches to bring you the most engaging, relevant care possible...all at a fraction of a cost and with the affordability to **not** have to file insurance to ensure added confidentiality. At the Scottsville Counseling Center, our mission is to provide quality, affordable mental health services for the communities we serve. We seek to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for each client built on a personal, tailored approach that offers tools and resources for achieving a new, healthier path forward. Ready to get started? Let's connect.
