About Hannah Kahn
Even as a child I wanted to be a psychologist. Now, after more than 21 years in the field, I love it even more than I expected.
I was born and raised in Mexico to American parents, and grew up in a bilingual household. I studied Psychology at Universidad de Monterrey, Mexico. After graduating I studied a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, and started my private practice, working in individual therapy with teenagers and adults. In 2005, I held a part time position as a school counselor at Colegio Euroamericano de Monterrey, where I was offered a scholarship to study a Master's Degree in Education with the Southern New Hampshire University. In 2008 I completed my third master's program, in Marriage and Family Therapy at Centro de Investigación Familiar AC. I then started seeing families and couples in my private practice.
I am currently in the process of getting my Doctorate in Arts and Humanities. My dissertation is currently on hold because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In my practice I help people of all ages, in both English and Spanish. We work through issues such as:
• Trauma and PTSD (domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse...)
• Life transitions (relocation, college, divorce, marriage, parenthood...)
• Anxiety and stress
• Depression and mood disorders
In my spare time I have a non-profit project, Tiempo de Crianza. It is a parenting podcast in Spanish, designed to help low-income parents get information and guidelines to care for the emotional well-being of their families and children. It is available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, and Stitcher. I am proud to say that without any paid promotion it has ranked among the top 3 rated parenting podcasts in Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Chile and Guatemala.
