About Luke Williams

I am a professional person-centred psychotherapist who is registered with the UK Council of Psychotherapy. I hold an MSc in contemporary person-centred psychotherapy and have been a professional psychotherapist for 6 years. I currently work both privately and as a psychotherapist at one of world’s leading Universities. I work both face to face and online and have specialised training in both settings. I aim to provide an empathic and non-judgemental space that allows clients to explore the areas of their lives they feel need attention. This enables clients to deepen their understanding of their needs, beliefs, values, decision-making processes and behaviours. I believe in working in a holistic way that embraces the whole person and their unique life experiences and journey. I believe that understanding, and self-compassion can soften critical or limiting voices and help clients create new, more helpful behaviours and ways of being. I try and help clients see overwhelming situations in a clear and manageable way and to cultivate confidence, self-acceptance and the courage to realise potential and make the changes you want. Before training as a psychotherapist I worked in operations management, training and then education so I feel I have some first-hand understanding of the pressures and complexity of commercial and academic institutions. I have also lived and worked in several continents and worked therapeutically with clients from diverse communities with a wide range of issues. I work with clients who experience depression, anxiety, compulsive behaviours, perfectionism, self-harm, relationship difficulties, attachment, trauma, abuse, confidence and existential anxiety. I am passionate about psychotherapy and continue to train and keep up to date with the with the latest research, theoretical developments and psychological treatments.
