About Deborah Rees

Communication and Growth for Any Stage of Your Marriage Do you want to create new and improved ways to communicate with each other? You are not alone. My specialties are Marriage Counseling and Couples Therapy. Maybe you want to feel closer to each other or need help with fights that seem to come out of nowhere. You may be a couple dealing with the devastation of infidelity in your marriage, and you need a caring, experienced guide through this difficult time. I would love to be that guide. I am certified in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy through The Gottman Institute, the premier marriage and couples research and clinical skills institute nationally and globally. This allows me to take your marriage counseling experience to a richer and deeper level, teaching you skills to enhance your communication and your love. You will learn and experience in counseling sessions a number of conflict management tools. As you apply them, these tools increase your ability to manage difficult times of emotional disruption in your relationship. Together, you will find better ways to enhance your friendship, fun, and communication. If talking, listening, and understanding your partner seems difficult these days, let me help you find your way to a closeness that leads to the joy of being a lasting couple. Couples that come for therapy love the idea of taking the Relationship Checkup Assessment. The assessment takes an in-depth inventory of all aspects of your relationship and clarifies your strengths and also areas that need help. In the first session, I meet with you as a couple to listen to your concerns and hear your story. I then have an individual session with each of you. When you finish your online Relationship Checkup Assessment, we will have a roadmap to successfully improve your relationship. Future sessions teach you to apply meaningful tools and skills in dealing with conflicts that seem to come out of nowhere or problems that never seem to be resolved. Whether you have been married one month or many years, whether you have had previous counseling or none at all, this well-researched and engaging counseling style will greatly help your relationship.
