Andrea Tackore, PhD, LMHC

I worked in the corporate worlds of retail, banking, radio, and accounting before entering the counseling field. I started in private practice counseling in 2003, working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and children. I’ve worked with early-intervention programs in elementary schools and as a counselor in the university setting. I work with clients from a relational theory perspective. This means I believe the difficulties we experience are rooted in the challenges of developing satisfying, deeply connected relationships with others and with ourselves. I draw out your story with empathy and presence, working with you to build a healthy relationship that will serve as the support and strength to grow. I am originally from Jamaica and have enjoyed working internationally with those in the Caribbean culture. I have lived in the US since adolescence and maintain an in-person practice with a variety of clients. While I personally embrace the Christian faith, I welcome clients from all backgrounds as each client retains full control of spirituality in our sessions. One significant part of my story is that I mothered for 22 years before my daughter passed away from complications of Cystic Fibrosis.
