Kate Morrison, PhD
About Kate Morrison
I am a psychologist who specializes in assessment and behavioral treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), misophonia, tinnitus, and issues of self-control. I treat issues that are related to OCD, including perfectionism, trichotillomania, dermatillomania, nail biting, tics/Tourette Syndrome, and hoarding. I provide acceptance and mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, exposure, habit reversal, and other evidence-based therapies for these concerns. I stay up to date on the best practices in the field of psychology and ensure the treatments I offer reflect this. I provide treatment that focuses on assisting in behavior change through an awareness and openness of thoughts, urges, and emotions. Through treatment, my clients often experience living more meaningful lives, reduce unwanted behaviors, and find peace of mind.
I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Nevada-Reno, doctoral degree at Utah State University, and internship and postdoctoral training at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System-Seattle Division. In these programs I studied under leaders in the fields of telemental health, acceptance and mindfulness treatments, OCD and related disorders, impulsivity, and exposure therapies. I have published articles and chapters and trained other professionals in my areas of expertise. I stay connected to academia through serving on the editorial board of the Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science. I have been providing videoconferencing services since 2014 and am an advocate for increasing access to mental health care, especially in rural areas.
My practice is private pay only (out of network) and fees are due at the time of service. All services are provided via videoconferencing. Currently, I can see clients who are located in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Indiana. If you would like to work with me, but live outside of these states, contact me to discuss the options.
