About Bridget Boursiquot

Meet Bridget hmmmm, but aren't you wondering more about what I can do for you? Well, here's the thing… Life isn't easy. I have no magic wand and I won't be the one to yank you out of that rut. What I can do is be the mirror on the wall that helps you gain the insight you might be seeking. I can stand on the edge of your climb and show you a healthy way out, cheering you along your path. I can help you change the life you're living into the life you want and help you heal those aches along the way. See, I believe that even the healthiest people can benefit from having someone to talk to. Even the strongest amongst us need someone on their team. And sometimes we just need someone to listen, to hear us out, to help us know we're not doing this thing on our own. Whether we decide that therapy or coaching is the best path for you, it's going to be up to you to create that change. Those sayings about bringing a horse to water but not being able to make it drink, and teaching a man to fish so he's fed for a lifetime… they exist for a reason. But together, we got this. So how am I different? Well, I'm glad you asked. Finding a therapist or coach that works for you is a lot like dating. If you feel that what I've been describing sounds like what you need so far, then chances are we're off to a great start. When meeting primarily in a short window of time and a literal short window of a computer screen, I have learned to maximize your time by being in tune with your needs and engaging in my style. I am honest and straightforward, but work with your goals and desires in mind so I can always smooth those sharp edges. I grew up in NY and blame my straight shooting demeanor and humor on that, but my counseling style is kind, interactive, and down to earth. I have a fluid approach catered to your needs, taking from humanistic theories, system and strength based theories, and using mindfulness and traditional talk therapy. At my core, I believe in treating everyone with empathy, kindness, and compassion. I am transparent, ask the same of you, and if we decide it isn't a great fit, I will even help you find someone who is. Now, that's better than a date! So what about those of you that really want the nitty gritty of my resume so we can see if that good fit exists on paper too? Sure! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts with decades of work in the social work field. I graduated from Syracuse University (go Orange!) with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and minor in Child and Family Studies. I went on to obtain my Master's Degree in Social Work specializing in clinical work at Boston University (although will always be a Yankee!) In my practice now, I specialize in premarital counseling, relationship issues, life transitions, and stress/anxiety. I have worked with a wide range of clients and my skills include tailored treatment approaches to work with those who may be experiencing depression, self-esteem concerns, life threatening illness, stress, parenting concerns, trauma and abuse, loss, and infertility and pregnancy. I have coached many individuals and couples through their processes of growth and have helped them to create a better future life space for themselves. My experience has allowed me to work across the United States as well as internationally and with a wide range of ages, backgrounds, diagnoses, socioeconomic classes and the barriers that come with each. If that sounds like a little bit of everything, it is! I wanted to jump in and work the front lines, dive into those trenches, and work from the bottom up. I found every step of the way invigorating and I realized what really mattered to me was the connections I was making with everyone along the way. Communication is where I was finding that connection. I knew my niche would be helping you to manage those big shifts in your life and I knew the final stop would be to do that through therapy and coaching. Regardless of what you decide, I'm glad you're here and starting your process. I know that decision doesn't come lightly. If you decide you're ready to give this thing a shot and want to set up a free consultation you can connect with me here. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
