About susan keefer

I strive to be open, honest, and responsive with my clients. My goal is to understand your world as you experience it, and to help you to find your way out of, or to make peace with, whatever negative mindset or situation you are struggling with. I place a strong emphasis on helping you to take personal responsibility for understanding and improving your life circumstances: a good therapist helps to light the way on this path. My approach is integrative, in that I use as many tools as possible to help you to discover and build upon your unique strengths. I have extensive training, both academically and clinically. I have a PhD in Social Psychology, which has helped me to understand how cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal factors interact to produce human suffering. In addition, I am well versed in cognitive, behavioral, and psychodynamic theories and practices, and am particularly drawn to schools and techniques that emphasize the mind/body connection. With 15 years of experience as a yoga practitioner/teacher, I have seen the positive results that physical exercise, proper nutrition and meditation can play in creating a balanced lifestyle and improving psychological well-being.
