About Amber Manker
My name is Amber Manker. I am a South Florida based clinician offering therapeutic services to adults, children, and adolescents. My goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and affirming environment. It is my hope that individuals can be empowered in their journey to deepen and grow as well as become reunified with their strengths and aspirations.
I began my journey in the mental health field at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University where I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work. Following, I attended the Ellen Whiteside McDonnell School of Social Work at Barry University. There I earned my graduate degree in Social Work with an emphasis on Trauma-Informed Care.
Throughout and post-graduation, I worked in a variety of mental health settings. I have spent time in a community mental health agency, inpatient facilities, and field-based individual counseling. I have worked with individuals who have contended with challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, co-occurring disorders, and family conflicts. A large part of my experience has been with people of color and LGBTQ youth. I would describe my style as strengths-based with elements of cognitive behavior therapy.
