About Carolynne "Lina" Lewis-Arevalo

I love working with clients to help them restore what has been lost. We will collaborate to identify barriers and challenge thinking patterns that hold you back and steal your joy. We’re not pretending the challenges aren’t real but rather, we will find a way over, under, or through them to a future that works for you. You will learn to shift your focus from what’s in your way, to how to be your Authentic Self and build a Live Worth Living. Our pasts will always be our pasts, and Naysayers will always be on hand with criticism and dire warnings to steal your joy. But you don’t have to let them dictate your future. I have helped many clients to remember their dreams and hopes, and have helped them take steps to turn them into Reality. It’s amazing what can happen when you take that first step. What makes me excited about counseling is the prospect of helping clients to discover and embrace the True Selves that they have been burying due to trauma, or criticism, or fear of rejection. We are meant to flourish, to be creative, inventive, connected beings, and I love helping people to rediscover those parts of themselves they may not have connected with since childhood. Many people appear successful on the outside, but on the inside feel riddled with doubt and shame. Do you ever find yourself thinking: "If they really knew about me, they wouldn't want me as their professor, doctor, friend, spouse"? Traumas such as child abuse or neglect, sexual abuse, poverty, racism, or domestic violence can strip a person of their confidence and belief in their value as a person and their right to their thoughts and feelings. It's not enough to look successful on the outside. I can help you feel whole. For more about me, see my website.
