Hello and Welcome to BetterHelp! I am so glad you've taken this step to seek out support for whatever you are going through. My name is Karla Burgess. I am a licensed independent mental health practitioner (LIMHP) in the great state of Nebraska. My 18 years of experience have taken place in either a hospital setting or in my private practice in a rural community. Being the only mental health practitioner in my area has given me experience with a wide range of mental health concerns such as anxiety/depression, behavioral concerns, parenting, relationship issues, grief, and LBGT. My experience as a school counselor also makes me very comfortable working with kids, teens, and adults. My treatment approach includes creating a strong relationship with the person that I work with. I'm trained in CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and a Client-Centered approach.
